THE COSTS:
Every £1,000 we raise will fund a Music Scholar for one year
Every £4,000 we raise will fund a Music Scholar for the full four-year programme
Every £25,000 we raise will fund a one-year Music Partnership reaching over 1,000 children
OUR AMBITION:
i) To award a minimum of 100 four-year scholarships per year at a total cost of £400,000
ii) To fund a minimum of 5 Music Partnerships every year at an annual cost £100,000
HOW TO SUPPORT:
If you would like to contribute to our Scholarships and Partnerships Programmes you can do so by the following methods:

- Via the My Donate button at the bottom of this page. BT’s on-line giving service My Donate charges 1.3% commission and will automatically process Gift Aid. If you are a UK taxpayer please tick the box and you will immediately increase your donation to MFYM by 25%.

Scholarship Sponsor £1,000 – £4,000
There are currently 166 children from 31 London boroughs in receipt of a scholarship. Numbers are entirely driven by the amount of sponsorship we receive.
The annual cost of a Scholarship is £1,000. To ensure the Scholar’s tuition is secure, sponsors are encouraged to commit for the full four years. Payments can be spread over four years.
We are keen to encourage you to develop a tangible involvement with, and commitment to the musical development of the scholar/s you sponsor (a sort of ‘musical godparent’) and therefore you are provided with the following:
- scholar’s name, age, school and borough of residence
- instrument being learned
- group photograph
- invitation to awards celebration
- invitation to end-of-year concert and other appropriate performances
- invitation to Mayor’s specific music events
- annual progress report
- termly newsletter
- individual and corporate sponsors are listed on the MFYM website. Major corporate sponsors can also submit their logo

Partnership Sponsor £25,000
Since 2011 MFYM has funded 12 Partnerships with grants totaling £200,000. These Partnerships are bringing together 24 Music Services and 13 arts organisations, and are working with more than eight thousand 7-18 year olds. In 2013 we hope, with your support, to fund a similar number of projects so that thousands more young people have the opportunity to advance their musical talent.
Partnership Sponsors receive the following benefits:

- invitation to Mayor’s specific music events
- end-of-grant report
- termly newsletter

GLA Support
‘Cultural Metropolis’ – the Mayor’s Cultural Strategy to 2012 and beyond, is committed to broadening access to musical progression for young people in the capital. As well as the Mayor being MFYM’s Founder Patron, the GLA is working in partnership with the charity providing a range of support.
